Center for Entrepreneurship’s Legacy and the Need for Student-Focused Support
Since 2002, the Center for Entrepreneurship has been at the forefront of fostering entrepreneurial talent through university and community programs. Over 23 years, the organization has empowered students, partners, and universities to integrate entrepreneurial education across curricula. While the Center has achieved significant success in promoting entrepreneurship, evolving challenges for American students have highlighted the need for dedicated programs that go beyond entrepreneurship, addressing life skills, independence, and career readiness. Recognizing this need, the Center has launched a new nonprofit, Your-S-A, focused exclusively on youth development and student support.
Youth Development and Holistic Student Support
Your-S-A will address critical gaps in student preparation, focusing on three core areas:
- Self-Management and Life Independence: Budgeting, time management, personal organization, and housing decisions.
- Social and Relationship Skills: Communication, networking, conflict resolution, and building meaningful relationships.
- Job Readiness and Career Navigation: Resume building, interviewing, workplace expectations, and early career planning.
These programs are informed by decades of experience from the Center for Entrepreneurship, including initiatives such as the Dynamic Entrepreneurship Classroom (DEC), Startup Club, and student entrepreneurial skill testing. By expanding beyond entrepreneurship, Your-S-A provides a holistic approach, preparing youth for both personal and professional challenges.
Non-Profit Consulting for Philanthropists
Your-S-A also offers high-impact consulting for individual philanthropists, helping them translate passion into measurable social impact. Services include:
- High-Impact Strategy Design: Aligning values, vision, and resources with clear goals and practical execution.
- Grantee Identification and Vetting: Sourcing, evaluating, and structuring nonprofit initiatives to maximize the potential of grants or impact investments.
- Impact Measurement: Monitoring progress, assessing outcomes, and refining strategies for continuous improvement.
- Organizational Support: Identifying resources and staffing needs, governance support, and long-term advisory capacity.
Honoring America’s Historical Legacy
A cornerstone of Your-S-A’s mission is fostering civic education and preserving America’s heritage. Through the Heritage Program, students engage in educational experiences, mentorship, and community initiatives that make the nation’s founding principles tangible and relevant. The Historical Preservation component allows students to participate in protecting and restoring historic sites, documents, and artifacts, gaining hands-on experience in archival research and public history. By combining civic education with preservation, Your-S-A cultivates informed and responsible citizens committed to sustaining America’s core values and traditions.
Vision and Impact
Through its integrated approach, Your-S-A envisions a generation of students who are independent, skilled, and civically engaged. By bridging gaps in life skills, providing guidance to philanthropists, and fostering a deep connection to American history, Your-S-A ensures that youth are prepared to lead, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to society.
